Schema diff

Schema diff opens a dedicated tab that compares two schemas side-by-side. The schemas can live in the same connection (e.g. public vs staging) or in different connections (e.g. dev vs prod).

Picking the two sides

The top of the tab has two pickers: Source and Target. Each is a connection + schema combo. Nembrix introspects both and runs the diff. Switching either picker re-runs the diff.

What you see

The result is grouped:

  • Tables added — in target, missing from source.
  • Tables removed — in source, missing from target.
  • Tables changed — present on both sides but with different columns. Each row expands to a per-column diff: added columns, removed columns, and changed columns (type, nullable, default).

Views, materialized views, and functions get their own sections with the same added / removed / changed buckets.

Emitting ALTER statements

Each diff row has an Align checkbox. Tick the ones you want to apply, hit Generate SQL, and Nembrix emits a script of CREATE, DROP, and ALTER statements that bring the source schema in line with the target.

The script opens in a new query tab against the source connection. Nothing runs automatically — you review, edit if needed, and execute it like any other query.
